Bible Study Epilogue – For thine is the kingdom
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Alleluia!
Doxology – Walter Brueggemann at a conference on “Training for Wonder,” exclaimed that doxology needs to be exuberant, a self-abandonment in response to the inexplicable generosity of God. Easter certainly is a time for doxology, exuberant praise of God for all God has done for us! Every day there is reason for doxology, for praising our God.
As we finish our Bible Study, it feels inadequate to end on being tested. It doesn’t feel complete. To feel complete add an exclamation about God – for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever! Doxology! We need to “do” doxology, a statement of faith in our God who provides everything we need. We need to end in praise as the Psalms end in an explosion of praise. Praise acknowledges that in the end, our God will prevail. While in this world, evil is present but it will not prevail. Praise God! Hallelujah!
And then we begin all over again, “Our Father . . .”
