Words of Reassurance
Advent – Season of Hope
The baby’s cries of abandonment echo down the stairs, soothed only by his mother’s quick return and comforting embrace.
“I did not abandon you, little one. I only left you for a brief moment. And see, now I am back. I will never abandon you. I will never be more than a cry away. I will always be there to comfort you.”
Decades later, as his last breath draws near, he hears again his mother’s words from the depths of his memories. He finds courage to face the darkness, knowing he will soon see her face.
For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with great tenderness I will take you back. Isaiah 54:7
