Ordinary Time

“Be patient with everyone, especially yourself,” part of the Golden Counsels of St. Francis de Sales. Golden nuggets, sifted from a life time of devotion, simple, straight forward, practical and helpful.

Gold, found in its natural form, sifted by prospectors from amidst rocks and sand, is not like the gold we wear in rings and jewelry. It needs polishing and refining. In the same way these golden nuggets become polished and refined through use, through reading them, reflecting on them, living them.

Write them down, carry them in your pocket, wherever you go! Day by day they will become a part of your life.

Do not grow slack in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, endure in affliction, persevere in prayer.    Romans 12:11-12
