Dealing with Conflict
Ordinary Time
Conflict is a part of ordinary, everyday life. Try though we might, it’s just not possible to achieve a conflict free existence, nor do I think it would necessarily be a good thing.
Despite years of experience at conflict resolution, it never gets easy. There is no one size fits all for conflict. There is no way to hurry it up, rush through it. Each conflict involves unique individual human beings interrelating in their own unique, individual ways. It takes time to deal with each situation, each person, respectfully. It takes time in prayer to weed out our own issues in order to discern what God wants in the situation.
Dealing with conflict takes time and prayer. To handle them well, I am forced to slow down and consult my Maker.
Thank you, God, for conflict which forces me again and again to turn to You.
Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth. I have come to bring not peace but the sword. Matthew 10:34
