Dealing with Cold Feet

Season of Change – Lent

He did it, took the plunge. Made a commitment . . . gulp. . . till death do us part . . .

The time for cold feet is past. He followed his heart, consulted his mind, went through the ceremony. Yet some coldness still remains in his feet, even as he warms them against her back at night.

Who–what–has he left behind?

Who is this person he has joined?

Who is he becoming?

How like Lent, Lord. We resolve to change, to follow you, and yet how many times we still find ourselves with “cold feet.”

The Lord will complete what he has done for me; your kindness, O Lord, endures forever; forsake not the work of your hands.   Psalm 138:8
