Carrying our Daily Cross
Lent – Season of Change
Luke tells us to daily pick up our cross and follow Jesus. What are some of the daily crosses you have to bare? The annoying co-worker, or the irritating habits of a beloved spouse or child, chronic health problems, diabetes, back pain, arthritis, loss of sight or hearing? Whatever the crosses be, great or small, they are ours to carry. We can’t just throw them off much though we may want to.
They are God’s to lift, not ours, but if we allow God to shoulder God’s portion, the burdens become light.
Then he said to all, “If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” Luke 9:23
