Easter – Season of New Life

Who was this woman, Catherine of Sienna, who dared to confront one of the most powerful men of her time? Who dared to suggest that he was wrong, who dared to speak for God to a man with authority?

Certainly it wasn’t she, but God who spoke through her, and heeding God’s word, the Pope moved the Vatican from France back to Rome where it belonged.

A Dominican sister, preacher, teacher and prophet, she dared teach the Pope and thereby gained title of Doctor of church.

I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned, you have revealed them to the childlike.        Matthew 11:5
