Mom’s Book Getting a Make-over for Mother’s Day

 May 9, 2017

What mom wouldn’t like a make-over for her special day? A new hair-do, a manicure, maybe a day at the spa including a massage and a facial?

I did the cover on my book, Who Me? Full of Grace?, myself last year. Covers on non-fiction books aren’t as crucial as covers on fiction, so I figured I could do it. A mistake. I took a favorite picture of me reading to my kids. I thought black and white would give it a “classic” look. (I never claimed to be a designer!) The options through Createspace’s cover creator were limited. I liked the cover on the kindle version better than the print version but that was not an option for print. So, one year later, I’m ready for a make-over.

I contacted my cover designer and she came up with three options. Of those I liked two best. Option A is the first one. It is colorful and easy to read. I like the picture on Option B, however font is hard to read in thumbnail, an important consideration for kindle books.

So I asked for an option C combining – option B with a different font.

Now it’s your turn to voice your opinion. Which one do you prefer and why? Comment below or email me, patricia@patriciamrobertson.com. Everyone who comments will be entered into a drawing to receive a print copy of the book.

I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
