A Spirit of Peace

Easter – preparing for Pentecost

Children . . . running, playing, making demands, moving constantly . . . signs of life, signs of youth.

Yet a newborn baby lies peacefully–most of the time. She sleeps and eats and sleeps some more during the first few weeks of her life. Those of us who cradle her catch a bit of her peacefulness.

Not all young life exhibits frantic activity. Often it rests softly in the quiet peace and security of protective arms.

Meanwhile throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria the church was at peace. It was being built up and was making steady progress in the fear of the Lord; at the same time it enjoyed the increased consolation of the Holy Spirit.    Acts 9:31
