It’s Not Easy, Being Green
Ordinary Time – Season of Stability
It’s not easy, being green . . . or so says Kermit the Frog. But I disagree. I love this season of the year and all of the shades of green. Green leaves, green grass, evergreen trees. Green is everywhere, in our church sanctuaries as well.
It’s not easy, being green . . . green also refers to environmentally friendly. Green refers to ways of living, working and being that are less destructive of our environment, uses less fossil fuel, pollutes less, and leaves a smaller carbon footprint.
It’s not easy, being green. . . and yet so necessary.
Thank you, God, for the color green, the color of ordinary life, ordinary time.
Help me to be green!
In green pastures you let me graze; to safe waters you lead me; you restore my strength. Psalm 23: 2
