How Can Anyone Find Time to be Bored?

 July 24, 2017

Ordinary Time – Season of Stability

“I’m bored.”

“Boring.”

“Bored, bored, bored!”

How I hate those words. Bored people sometimes act crazy to relieve their boredom. Children pick fights. Teenagers dare each other to do things they later regret. Some married couples seek extramarital affairs. Some adults throw away jobs, careers.

How can anyone find time to be bored? There’s so much to see, so much to learn, so much to do. There are books to read. Pictures to be painted. Friends to visit. There is far more to occupy our minds than one can fit into any one day.

Tired? Yes.

Exhausted? Yes.

Overwhelmed? Definitely

But bored? Never!

Thank you, God, for the overwhelming richness of life!

I gave you a land which you had not tilled and cities which you had not built, to dwell in; you have eaten of vineyards and olive groves which you did not plant. Now, therefore fear the Lord and serve him completely and sincerely.      Joshua 24:13-14
