Ordinary Time – Feast Day of St. Martha

Martha, so busy about so many things, the work horse. She is the one you can count on, the one who takes care of all of the details, all of the organizing and arrangements. She is the keeper of the calendar for all family members, the one who puts meals on the table and creates a warm and welcoming environment.

Mary may have chosen the better course, but where would we be without the “Marthas” in the world?

As they continued their journey he entered a village where a woman whose name was Martha welcomed him.       Luke 10:38

Fun Fact – St. Martha is the patron saint of cooks, housewives, servants, waiters and waitresses.
