Michael and Gabriel, Archangels

Ordinary Time – Feast of Michael and Gabriel

Fierce and terrible in battle, Michael the archangel flashes his sword. Along with the others angels, he leads God’s army. He protects those who are innocent, cuts down those who would harm them. His is a warrior’s spirit, calling to the warrior within, the archetype of battle, ready to fight for what we believe, ready to follow God to the ends of the earth, ready to fight evil wherever it may be.

Gabriel, messenger of God, telling Mary how she had been chosen to bear a son, the prince of peace for a troubled world.

There truly is a time for everything. A time for peace, and a time for war, a time to stand firm and fight, and a time to rebuild and create life. And there are angels for every occasion!

Then was broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels battled against the dragon. The dragon and its angels fought back, but they did not prevail and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.   Revelation 12:7-8
