All Saints, November 1
Season of Gratitude – All Saints Day
We are all called to sainthood. We are called to remember all those saints who have gone before us and are now part of the great communion of saints in heaven. Some we know by name, others remain part of the nameless masses, and yet their presence is real. They are present whenever we gather in the name of the Catholic Church in God’s holy sanctuary. They are present with us in the celebration of the sacraments, especially in the breaking of the bread. If we are open to it, we can feel their presence.
And some day, we will take our rightful place with them in the kingdom of heaven.
Thank you, Lord, for the witness of your saints, for all they can teach us about how to live good lives. And thank you that I, too, might some day share with them the joy of heaven.
After this I had a vision of a great multitude, which no one could count, from every nation, race, people and tongue. They stood before the throne and before the Lamb, wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands. Revelation 7:9
