Thank You for Mystery!

Season of Gratitude

I praise you, O Lord, for all your works are wonderful.

How can I say this with genuine conviction? Do I truly believe in the wonder of all creation, as killer bacteria and viruses wreak havoc on total populations? As natural disasters, floods, earthquakes, volcanoes, and tornadoes rumble and explode over your earth? Are these part of your master plan–or are they gargantuan mistakes, freaks of nature?

And yet there is the beauty in the sunrise, in a single flower, and a baby’s laugh. All too wonderful for me to comprehend.

I praise you, O Lord, for your works remain a mystery.

Then the Lord addressed Job out of the storm and said . . . Where were you when I founded the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding.     Job 38:1,4
