Church Windows – Holy Week and Easter
Jesus is risen, Alleluia! What more is there to say? Jesus lived, died and rose from the dead. The last days of Jesus’ life are depicted in these windows. Jesus, even on the cross, is glorious as he prepares to go to his Father. The sunlight shining behind this window has obscured many of the details, as if already being glorified! God’s light shines through the cross just as God’s light can shine through us in our suffering, if we allow it.
Resurrection Window
Then Jesus was raised victorious on Easter morning, blowing aside the rock put in place to keep Jesus’ body from being stolen. In this window we see the guard that had been set to keep watch over the tomb in the right corner along with an angel. Thus does Jesus blow away the blocks that we may try to put between Jesus and us! Another reason for rejoicing!
Glimpses of God’s Glory
My photos don’t do justice to these beautiful works of art. I hope you can get a glimpse of their beauty. In the same way, the most beautiful and acclaimed works of art on this earth don’t do justice to the wonder and splendor which is our God and which is our inheritance as children of God.
Happy Easter today and every day! May you seek and find that which is beautiful in the this world and the next.
