Autumn Leaves
They refer to them as the “Leafies”—the surge of tourists coming to New England in the fall to enjoy the autumn colors. For years I had this on my bucket list, until I looked around me and realized—it’s hard to imagine the color could be any better than what we have here in Michigan with all of our beautiful tree covered hills, inland lakes and streams and mountains in the U.P.
And we don’t have to travel hundreds of miles and fight crowds to enjoy them!
Sometimes, in married life, we can spend a lot of time dreaming about some “other” reality—a time in the future when life will be easier and better, rather than recognizing the beauty that is already ours.
