Bible Study for Lent
Looking for a Bible Study for Lent? Interested in learning more about the Psalms but not sure where to begin?
Dietrich Bonhoeffer tells us, “All the prayers of Holy Scripture are summarized in the Lord’s Prayer, and are contained in its immeasurable breadth.” What better format than using the Lord’s Prayer to understand the Psalms? What better way to grow spiritually than by using the prayer Jesus taught us and the prayers of the Hebrew people?
Bible Study for Lent
My newly released book, The Psalms in Light of the Lord’s Prayer, is a great resource for any time of the year, but especially Lent. The book is divided into seven sections, one for each of the phrases of the Lord’s Prayer. Beginning with the week of Ash Wednesday, you focus on a new section each week throughout the seven weeks of Lent, starting with Our Father who art in heaven (first week); Hallowed by thy name (second week) and so on.
The Bible study may be used individually or by a group. Each section includes reflection questions to guide the reader.
“Whenever the Psalter is abandoned, an incomparable treasure vanishes from the Christian church. With its recovery will come unsuspected power.”– Dietrich Bonhoeffer
What better way to unlock this treasure than through using the Lord’s Prayer?
