Early Black Friday Sales!
Do you remember the days when Black Friday sales were only on Black Friday? It wasn’t that long ago. People planned their Thanksgiving celebrations around getting up early the next morning to wait in line and then made a mad dash through the door to get the limited number of good deals available, trampling on those who get in their way. But now my email box is getting inundated with ads for Black Friday sales that start weeks before the actual day. What’s up with that?
It seems Black Friday sales have gone the way of waiting until Thanksgiving to start putting up Christmas decorations. Now people can hardly wait until after Halloween. And stores … Christmas decorations and sales start alongside Halloween candy. And speaking of Halloween, this simple night of fun is now two months of preparation. Don’t get me started.
I’ve never been one to participate in Black Friday adventures. I’d rather stay home in my warm bed, have a leisurely cup of coffee, and then maybe, just maybe, go out later in the day when the crowds have subsided even if the deals where nowhere near as good. I’ve long since overcome my FOMO (fear of missing out) in regard to these deals. If you wait, you can sometimes get better deals on Cyber Monday. Also, there were still deals to be had through the days leading up to Christmas.
But if one day of sales is good, then two weeks of sales is better. Right? And as soon as Christmas is over, we start prepping for the next big holiday, no, not New Year’s Eve, but Valentines Day.
Christmas in Cascades Falls
Not to miss out, I’ve decided to do my own early Black Friday sale. Starting today and through Cyber Monday, the paperback version of my Christmas book, Christmas in Cascade Falls, will be on sale at a discount price. $11.95 gets you 12 Christmas stories. That’s 20% of the normal retail price of 14.95. How great is that?!
Travel back in time to the Underground Railroad and the Civil War period. Venture across the Atlantic and across time to celebrate Christmas in Belfast, Northern Ireland, during 1935. Explore the wonderful “What Ifs” of life, then join two star-crossed lovers as they try to make their relationship work. Enjoy Christmas through a dog’s eyes and the eyes of the animals in a stable. This and more await you.
