Thank You for the Gift of Struggle
Season of Gratitude
Oh, for this to be over and finished! So much effort, so much work, so little recognition, so little visible progress. And even recognition is so fleeting. Here today, gone tomorrow. I am so discouraged!
But I have a reason to get up every morning. I have work to do that gives meaning and purpose to my life. And I am loved as a child of God–my reason for living.
It isn’t so much the progress–or lack of progress–that is important. It’s the struggle as I push myself and confront barriers, as I look beyond the values of the world and prepare for the next. I’m like a flower preparing to bloom in a burst of glory.
Thank you, God, for the struggle.
Shout joyfully to the Lord, all you lands; worship the Lord with cries of gladness; come before him with joyful song . . . Enter the temple gates with praise, its courts with thanksgiving. Psalm 100:1-2,4
