The Bumble Bee Flies Anyway – Believing in the Impossible

Ordinary Time – Season of Stability

Aerodynamically, the bumble bee shouldn’t be able to fly, but the bumble bee doesn’t know it so it goes on flying anyway. (Mary Kay Ash) Or so the myth goes. Still I love the idea. The humble bumble bee can teach us a few tricks!

Sometimes it’s better if we don’t know any better. It’s better to not know what is and isn’t humanly possible. Sometimes our brains get in the way.

Peter was able to walk on water as long as he didn’t let his brain get in the way. Once he realized what he was doing and let his brain take over, he began to sink. When he focused on Jesus he was okay again.

If we only focus on Jesus, just think what we might be able to do! What impossible feat are you waiting to do?

So Peter got out of the boat, and began to walk on the water, moving toward Jesus. But when he perceived how strong the wind was, becoming frightened, he began to sink and cried out, “Lord, save me!”       Matthew 14:29-30
