The Common Cold

 January 23, 2017

Ordinary Time

Tis the season – the cold and flu season. Bugs are spread as people are confined inside due to the cold weather. Sniffles and coughing help to spread these germs. No-one is completely immune to then.

They wreak havoc wherever they go, causing loss of days at work, loss of productivity. The sale of tissues, cough drops and cough and cold medicine escalate. It is the pharmaceutical company’s equivalent of Christmas!

We are left in misery, aching and discharging fluids from every orifice. Schedules are disrupted, children kept home from school.

What is so common about the common cold? It creates havoc for each individual in its own unique way.

The Lord will help him on his sickbed, he will take away all his ailment when he is ill.  Psalm 41:3
