Easter – Season of New Life

This is not what she wanted for herself, not at all. This change was unwelcome, unexpected. She wants to deny that anything good could come from it.

She lost a job she valued. She lost her health, her money, her social status–all because she’s been downsized.

What has she gained? More time for family and friends . . . a slower, saner pace . . . time to reflect on what really counts in life . . . greater appreciation for what is truly important.

The old branches of her life have been cut down and dug up. But she is nevertheless energized. Though she hates to admit this, she feels resurrected, reborn, more alive.

So the two shook the dust from their feet in protest and went on to Iconium. The disciples could not but be filled with joy and the Holy Spirit.    Acts 13:51-52
